Aussie accent has US general baffled.

The commander of the US-led campaign in Afghanistan says he's had little trouble destroying
terrorist strongholds in Afghanistan, but the Australian accent has him stumped.

General TOMMY FRANKS has joked to reporters at a briefing that he listened closely
to the comments of Australia's Brigadier General KEN GILLESPIE -- but was still mystified.

Brigadier GILLESPIE is based at the General's command centre in Florida -- and the
General went on to thank Australia and
Britain for their support.

About 150 Australian Special Air Services troops
are on the ground in Afghanistan -- but Brigadier GILLESPIE has refused to detail exactly
where they are or what operations they are involved in.
