Qld: Police seize $4.5m in assetts from suspected drug syndicate

GOLD COAST, Jan 14 AAP - Queensland police have seized a waterfront Gold Coast home,two catamarans and a luxury Jaguar allegedly owned by a drug syndicate kingpin under newpowers aimed at hitting criminals in the hip pocket.
Police say the property, valued at $4.5 million, was bought with the proceeds of a"large scale" drug ring based on the tourist strip, and involved in the importation, manufactureand distribution of amphetamines and ecstasy.
A businessman, two solicitors and an accountant were among 24 people arrested thismorning as police moved …
